University
I love university you cant be bored, there is always something random going on or endless uni work to be doing. Once at uni I undertook a dyslexia test, where I found that yes I did have it along with dyscalculia, hence the effort that I needed to put in during GCSE’s when most people would just look at a text book the night before. My anxiety wasn’t very obvious then I still would go to the bathroom before every lecture, before leaving the house etc.
Panic Attack in Second Year
I tried one lecture not to go to the toilet and began to have a panic attack, I sat there and tried to ignore the fact I needed to go to the bathroom, half way through. I was sat near the front, in the middle of a row, in a room of 150 people, I had to try and work out how to get out without making a big deal of it. My vision started to become unclear as I began to hyperventilate. Luckily the lecturer said ‘discuss for 5 minutes amongst yourself’ I got up and ran to the bathroom at this point, I knew I must have looked panicked as my friends all said are you ok, as soon as I left the lecture I was fine and everything returned to normal. I went back in and refused to try and not go to the bathroom before a lecture again.
