The long road to getting help

So a little has happened since I last blogged. Firstly I managed to go to the supermarket, get on a bus and stand in a queue in a shop over the past few days, a week ago that wouldn’t have been possible so I think this medication is working better now, and I am not getting any of the first week side effects anymore such as light-headedness and feeling tired.

Seeing a Counsellor

I went to see a counsellor at uni Wednesday in the hope they would point me in the right direction. They told me that I needed to go back to the doctors at Keele to chase up getting therapy and to get a doctors letter to put in for extenuating circumstances. They did give me some web addresses, I haven’t looked yet but I will list them below:

www.llttf.com and www.moodgym.anu.edu.au both are interactive CBT websites and if it sends you to a list of uni’s go to Cambridge as apparently they have the best help.

Another is www.cci.health.wa.gov.au which is a workbook.

I visited the doctor the following day and explained my situation and they gave me a number for an emotion wellbeing centre in my local town at uni, who I have contacted and am waiting for a call about an appointment.

I am still nervous about going places I might need to stay for a long periods of time, such as the swimming pool but am positive that I am making progress. Starting to fall behind with my work now and I think that’s because I work best in the library but going at it all guns blazing today to try and get some done.

Hope the sites will be of some use and let me know on facebook if you have found any useful information online
xx
